In the fresher resume you have the option to include all your skills qualifications and certifications; no matter whether it is relevant to the prospective position or not. You dont know the skills required for working in the position and the things exactly expected by the employer. Hence it is good to include all your qualifications in your resume when you are fresher. You can also list the awards received during your school and college in the awards section. But remember that when you are listing all these details maintain the length of the resume and do not let it exceed two pages. Professional Resume Writing There is a lot involved in creating a professional resume that is attention grabbing and lands interviews. Did you know that some job postings can bring in as many as 500-1000 resumes? And recruiters will spend between 10 and 30 seconds reviewing a resume with their primary goal being to whittle down the piles of resumes that they receive each day to a manageable stack of "keepers".
However the job market is impulsive these days and your situation could change instantly. Come what may you will gain from thinking about how to present yourself in a fine manner. There are basically two types of resume format chronological format and skills format. The chronological format presents your work information chronologically. This is a good format to use if you have a concrete employment record with a stable career growth curve. In this format you can reveal your reliability and professional development. If you have just passed out of a school or returning to the workforce or if you have gaps in your work experience you may try the skills format for your resume. In this format highlight the skills you offer using your work history to hold these skills rather than as the core of the resume.
You should also make sure the content clearly conveys the intended message. Taking these steps is very important because the visual appeal of the format will not overshadow a poorly written resume. Getting too worked up about different types of resume formats is not recommended even through many websites may focus on this. Instead of spending too much time worrying about the format focus on making sure your work experience section is written succinctly yet provides all of the necessary details. Before you begin the process of writing your resume it is important to realize resume formats can be changed. Regardless of the type of format you select you can make changes to make this format more suitable for you. It is even possible to create a resume which incorporates design features of two different formats. It is also important for you to realize you will not land a job on the format of your resume alone. Although it is true that you will not land a job based on your format you should realize your format can cost you a job even when you are the right candidate. However as long as your resume looks decent your work experience will outshine the formatting. Some job seekers take a look at the situation they are currently in to determine which format is best. Job seekers who have held a number of jobs in a short period of time may prefer on a functional format because it focuses on their skills instead of how long they held each position. Job seekers who have advanced in their career may prefer the chronological format because it dictates this progression.
