Check Templates / December 16, 2018 / Lea Melton
Previous to this I recommended that you use protection at the worksheet and cell level to restrict the access people can have to certain cells. The workbook also should be protected to ensure that your users cannot modify the underlying template. You can set two levels of security which are the Modify option and Read Only Option. The only time you would use the Read Only option is if your template was only being used to print out the data. Issue 3: Use Formatting to make it easy to know where to put the data There are some basic fundamentals I always follow when it comes to formatting in Microsoft Excel.
Graphics- You can insert a logo or any graphical file or files you want to. Really make it your own. Print Settings- Use Page Layout to specify printing related items such as header and footers as well as margins. Column Widths- If you do not like the default settings then just change them. Styles- you can use the extensive style gallery in excel to help customize your own style. By default all cells use the Normal style so if you want to change the default font in any way including the borders number formats or color then amend the Normal style.
There are plenty available on the internet however you need to make your choice as to what kind you should choose for your wants and needs. The templates can come in various forms and formats. Sometimes these formats are available in blogs on the internet. It is not necessary that you have to follow these formats word to word. You can add on your own necessary requirements to these samples as long as you are following a general format. Following a general format has many advantages. This can only happen if you are following a general format. There are many such formats that are available on the internet. You should pick one that suites you the best.
