Excel is an extremely useful program but it can be intimidating to people who have never created a spreadsheet or used it regularly. The solution to this lack of experience is to us a template. Templates are pre-formatted spreadsheets that you can download and use on your computer. If you already have Excel you already have access to this great free resource! Excel 2007 Excel 2007 has templates located on your computer and ones that can be downloaded directly from Microsoft.com. Downloading templates to Your Computer To download templates directly to your computer follow these steps: Select the Office Button and select New.
Look on the left side of your new window screen until you see Microsoft Office Online. Click on the category that you are interest in (for example budgets calendar etc) You will see templates appear for that category. Select the template that looks interesting to you. Click OK. Once downloaded this template can be modified saved and re-used as often as you need it. Graphics- You can insert a logo or any graphical file or files you want to. Really make it your own. Print Settings- Use Page Layout to specify printing related items such as header and footers as well as margins. Column Widths- If you do not like the default settings then just change them. Styles- you can use the extensive style gallery in excel to help customize your own style. By default all cells use the Normal style so if you want to change the default font in any way including the borders number formats or color then amend the Normal style.
