Previous to this I recommended that you use protection at the worksheet and cell level to restrict the access people can have to certain cells. The workbook also should be protected to ensure that your users cannot modify the underlying template. You can set two levels of security which are the Modify option and Read Only Option. The only time you would use the Read Only option is if your template was only being used to print out the data. If you want to change the style completely then right click the name in the Style gallery and hit Modify then make the changes. Once you have chosen your new settings you need to set your new work book up as your default. This is straightforward:- Office>Save As>Select Template ( *.xltx) or (*.xltm) if your work book has any macros. Name the file book.xltx (or.xltx if contains macros) and make sure the file is saved to your XLStart folder. Excel states it should be saved in your Templates folder but ensure it is saved in your XLStart folder. After you save the file close it.

It is essential that you understand these templates or you will be left wondering about the fluctuations in your salary. There are many such templates available however most companies will follow a general pattern of templates that will have all the details of the salary of the employees. If you have any queries on your pay check then this document should be able to clear out all your doubts about the money you are earning.
