If you want to change the style completely then right click the name in the Style gallery and hit Modify then make the changes. Once you have chosen your new settings you need to set your new work book up as your default. This is straightforward:- Office>Save As>Select Template ( *.xltx) or (*.xltm) if your work book has any macros. Name the file book.xltx (or.xltx if contains macros) and make sure the file is saved to your XLStart folder. Excel states it should be saved in your Templates folder but ensure it is saved in your XLStart folder. After you save the file close it.
These templates are very important and it is necessary that you have a thorough understanding of such templates so that you can make the most of the information that is given to you. There are many essential things that are to be written on such a document. For example if you receive this document with a cheque then this document should have the number of the cheque as well as the date and the bank from which it is taken from. There are other details that are to be included in the document. The most important detail is the gross amount that is the amount of the cheque. This document also should have a clear break up of this amount. This means that all the deductions that are made to the gross amount due to tax and other such things are to be clearly mentioned.
The background of the area where I want my team to enter the data is always a lighter color with the headings backgrounds being formatted with a darker color. This strategy is in line with that used in software development. You will notice in applications like Microsoft Word you always type the text in the lighter area and the darker area is the headings. The flip side is that if your background is a light color then the text being entered must be a dark color and for the headings if your heading backgrounds are dark then the text should be light. Always be carefully when using the colors Red Green and Blue on templates as people with color blindness can find those colors confusing.
