I was delighted to learn about the many resume formats available but first I had to spend some time contemplating which format was best for me. I did not simply pick the format I thought was the prettiest but instead focused on which format would be the most appealing to potential employers. I had to do a great deal of investigating to make this decision. The first step was determining the number of formats available. Then I took a close look at each format and the benefits it offered. I also spent time searching for information on why each format is most useful. In conclusion I decided to test out a few resume formats before making my final decision. I did not take this process lightly and designed entire resumes with a few different formats. After designing these resumes I critiqued them objectively as though I was the potential employer and considered whether or not I would hire someone with this type of resume. The process of selecting a format was certainly not an easy one but in the end I was satisfied with my decision. I knew the format I had chosen would help me to stand out.
