The two main types of format in use are the chronological and functional formats. When to Use the Chronological Resume Format A Chronological resume is the easiest to create and it is also the most widely used format. Chronological resume format allows you to list your job experiences starting with the most recent and moving back in time. This allows employers to see your progression in the career field. If you are staying in your career field this format will allow employers to see if you are qualified for the job you are applying for. It may not be beneficial for people changing career fields.
It is suited for the entry level professionals too. You should write the resume in this format in a clear manner otherwise the employer may get a notion that you are manipulating the details • Combination Resume Format: You can say that combination resume is the blending of chronological resume as well as functional resume. You can highlight the skills that the particular job demands. You can mention the work history from latest to old. There are ready made templates and resume formats available on the internet. You can refer those as well as the information given above to write the most appropriate resume. Always remember be specific and honest about what ever you write. Manipulation is a short term solution and experienced employer can make it out in a moment.
If you have large gaps in employment you may want to just list your past employers but leave out the dates. You can deal with any questions during the interview. When it doesnt work well.
