Biodata Format / December 12, 2018 / Clarissa Mendoza
In the Philippines a biodata is a simple "fill-up" form. It is also used in skill-intensive jobs - for welders machine operators construction jobs and simple house and store helpers. It is important for you to know what your requirements are before applying for any position. With its short length the biodata can be an effective tool for the hiring manager to have a quick glance about one s education and experiences and thus evaluate its relevance to the specific job vacancy. From the past employment experiences written on the biodata one can correlate it to the future job performances of an applicant.
The functional resume format is an effective way to reduce the number of pages that an employer will have to read and will make your application more impactful. The disadvantage to this resume format is that recruiters dont like it. They get suspicious about your job history if no dates are included and may toss it in the garbage if it raises too many questions. Although at one time I used a functional resume because in my chronological resume I had gaps in my work history that I suspected were keeping the phone from ringing with interview requests. I changed the format from chronological to functional and the phone started to ring! So for the best of both worlds you might want to try the combination resume if youve got gaps in your work history or have been out of the workforce for a while.
Usually Biodata is collected in a fill in form. The information that is collected from a Biodata form is the first impression a recruiter or company sees of a potential employee and the first chance the potential employee has to land the ever important interview. The Biodata form is a collection of questions that retrieves information about that person s life and work experiences. The form allows a person to express their opinions beliefs and values. This gives recruiters and potential employers and idea of what type of personality one has based on prior behaviour. Biodata also gives an idea of what employees want to achieve in the future. What future job aspirations they have and where they see themselves.
